I haven't been lately, but used to live one farm town over, in Monee, lol.
I have always had good food there. Not great, but good. It used to seem better, but that could be because I had less experience. It is a "destination" in the area. Thinking about it, it has been a destination my entire life. It's where I went on my first "major" date. There aren't many places to go for a "fine-dining" experience if you live in Peotone, Beecher, Monee, or even Crete, though in the 50's and 60's, this was one of many that offered a similar experience - relish tray, soup, salad, entree, etc. Now, this is the only one left, though there are a couple in Indiana.
I can't remember what we had the last time we were there, but probably steaks - it was a Mother's Day thing maybe 6 years ago. I recall that we were all happy with what we had, if not overwhelmed. I know my sister and her husband still go sometimes, as she still lives one farm town over. They still like it.
Don't expect them to know much about wines or to have fresh or organic food. That isn't what they are about. It's more a preserved old school dining experience that hasn't changed much since it opened. Since there are still waits and long lines, I guess it must work for them.
