No Italian Beef on Sunday?

I was down at the New Maxwell Street Market this weekend and had decided beforehand to pass on the delicious world of Mexican food in favor of an Al's No 1 Italian Beef (hot and dipped) with an Italian Lemonade to wash it down. What I didn't realize is that Al's is closed on Sunday. Still craving Italian Beef, I grabbed the Blue Line up to the Loop and walked north to Mr. Beef. Also closed on Sunday. It looked like my options were the Al's franchise on Ontario and Portillo's. (At least, I think they have Italian Beef.) With MealStar still a pipe dream, I just sucked it up and accepted the lesser quality Al's.

For the next time I find myself in this conundrum, does anyone know a good-quality Italian Beef place open Sundays?

Or, you could have gone about 6 blocks west on Taylor to The Patio (which, I believe, came in third overall in the final Beef-off...?)

As a new-ish transplant to the city, I'm consistently surprised by the number of restaurants & stores that close early daily and/or aren't open on Sunday.

In fact, we took a drive down to Top Notch Beefburger yesterday and were similarly disappointed.

I actually did the exact same thing this Sunday--walking to Al's on Taylor, I was sad to find it closed but picked up a watermelon frozen lemonade to keep me company on the walk to the Maxwell St. Market. The tacos and tamales made me happy, so I can't really complain.
