i love this place- i think the upstairs loft with its big comfy leather furniture and decent small plates of food is really a great place to relax. and monday nights every glass of wine is half price. (it doesnt apply to bottles, alas). i was sorry to miss the brasserie jo gathering a few weeks ago, and would like to propose a monday night get together here, if anyone is interested. there is free parking, and a subway stop nearby (but i dont know what color). justjoan

    justjoan-

Although my summer weeknight schedule makes me loathe to commit to something else, I suspect that if you selected a date that works for you and posted a definite item on the Events board, LTHers would show up. It seemed to work that way for the two happy hour events so far.

Alas, I'm a CTA commuter and W. Randolph Street is an awkward destination, and even harder from which to get home to far north Rogers Park. I'll probably miss this one.

The green and pink line Ashland stop is about one and a half blocks from the Tasting Room, just follow Union Park clockwise from the el stop, and you'll see the Tasting Room at the southeast corner of Randolph & Ogden. Problem is, the green and pink lines aren't the most convenient for red and blue line riders.

I'm going to pencil-in the date: Monday nights are good for me.

From the Loop, it's an easy place to get to: the Green Line west to Ashland Avenue, and walk south - or the #20 Madison bus to Ogden/Ashland, and the short walk northeast.

To get back to the Red Line to Rogers Park, and elsewhere: #20 Madison bus to State St.

If several people wanted to take a taxi somewhere (like to State St.), I don't think there's a problem getting one there.

We're usually free on Monday nights and nobody ever plans anything. I think we will be able to attend this event...sign some more people up!
