Can anyone recommend a place to purchase fresh fish in Seattle that isn't Pike Place Market? I'm trying to find a good local spot that isn't overrun with tourists.

    Thanks.

The only recommendations from a seattleite friend are Whole Foods and Uwajimaya in Chinatown, which is one of the very few places he's seen live geoducks.

    Hope this helps.

Despite being full of tourists, Pike Place Market is still a great place to buy seafood. It's always very fresh because they move a lot of it. When I lived in Seattle (granted, it was long before Microsoft was invented), the market was the only place I would buy fish except for when I bought it directly from the Indians at the dock when the boats came in.
