I couldn't think of a way to ask this without sounding like a fraternity brother looking to upgrade the frat house, but here it goes.

I've found online sources for buying conversion kits and the component hardware to turn a refrigerator or freezer into a kegerator, but I'm wondering if there are any local sources for such equipment.

    Thanks.

Are you looking to make a lagering fridge for making your own?

If so, then I would call around to any of the homebrew supply shops in the area, listed at http://www.clubwort.org/supplies.htm

But you can do this yourself. I'm pretty sure I saw directions in one of the how to home brew books by Charlie Papazian or Chris Miller, etc. AH - found somebody's instructions at http://hbd.org/mtippin/tempcont.html - hmm, sounds a lot more complicated than I remember...

Well, that would be awesome. But, alas, no. We want to buy a 1/2 barrel of commercial beer, and be able to keep it cold and hooked to a CO2 system to keep it from going bad so quickly.

Maybe someday soon we'll try the homebrew route, that's definitely on the list, but that's not what this is for.

    Thanks!

The guys you want to talk to are Norbert J. Francis and his son Daniel. They have a shop in a rather non-descript old garage building on Leavitt near Wellington and Clybourn. They can set you up with everything you need. The family specializes in all things CO2 related, from beer to pop to paint ball.
