used to live in chicage many years ago and when visiting my brother a few years ago he took me to a small italian bakery (off the beaten path) after picking me up from midway airport and we got the best pizza ever! i even brought some home to florida with me.

the only way to describe this pizza is that it was 9 x 12 possibly, maybe an inch or two thick. best crust, sausage and cheese i have ever had. they even shipped some to us but have since lost their # and addy.

if anyone has any suggestions they will be greatly appreciated.

Even longer shot, but was it Raimondi's Pastry Shop(pe) in Hillside near Butterfield and Wolf?

They used to sell these sheets of "pizza bread" that were about 9x12. I only had it a couple times, but it was delicious.

Sadly, I think Raimondi's has closed.

Sadly, or happily, this sounds like the pizza available at almost every Italian bakery in the city.

A few places to consider:

Masi's
933 S Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60612 - (312) 733-5092

D'Amato's
1124 W Grand Ave Chicago, IL 6062

Freddy's
1600 S 61st Ave
Cicero, IL 60804
(708) 863-9289

If it's none of those places, it would help if you told us in better detail where it was, relative to Midway. Or, you could ask your brother.
