Need to send a gift of steaks. Do you know of any shops that will do this locally?

Why don't you go to Casey's and ask?

I'd also suggest checking out Prime'N'Tender in Hinsdale.

I'd stay clear of Omaha Steaks... received a gift of them twice and they're tough and lacking flavor. Not impressed at all!

Thanks for all the replys, Caseys was my first option and I posed this question in case it didn't work out. But, it appears it is going to work out.
I've heard that about Omaha steaks, and when they come they are disappointing, and they never stop with the advertising.

It sounds like you've got your meat delivery plans worked out, but I wanted to throw in a plug for Tallgrass Beef for future reference. I'd seen Tallgrass steaks at Paulina and drooled (not literally) over them, but never bought any. On one of those occasions, my father was drooling along side of me. So, I had a steak sampler sent to him in Michigan for Father's Day this year. Not only were the steaks fantastic (so I'm told), but they threw in a bunch of other meat treats neither ordered nor paid for (couple of orders of jerkey, about six pounds of ground beef, and a few other things), which were much appreciated. My mother described the hamburgers she made from the ground beef as the best she's ever had. And that lady likes hamburgers. All in all a great ordering experience and one that is likely to become a yearly event.
