Anyone have a favorite? I am tired of my old standby which is ketchup and oil based with brown sugar, cider vinegar, salt, pepper, worcestershire...

I loved my grandmother's wilted spinach salad with bacon and egg
I figure the dressing was made with hot bacon fat and vinegar maybe some shallot S&P.... not sure but 20 years later I can still remember it....

Yup...bacon fat and the yolk from a poached egg with some pepper is all the dressing I need!

I use this recipe all the time, it makes a great tasting dressing-In a food processor combine 1 cup canola oil, 1/3 cup cider vinegar, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 t. dry mustard, 1/2 t. kosher salt, 1/2 t. freshly ground pepper & 1/2 t. celery seed. Put it in a jar and leave it on your counter for about 1 hour. The salad itself is spinach, sliced red onion, chopped hard cooked eggs, crumbled bacon & sliced mushrooms.

    Enjoy! :)
