Cheap and Amazing?

I'm helping my brother move to the wrigleyville area next week from detroit. we both love great food (hot dougs is one of our favorites), but are a little strapped for cash. Are there any recommendations for great and cheap eats in chicago (any areas and all kinds of food)?

Chicago is the land of great, cheap food. You might want to search the site for Mexican and Vietnamese in particular, but almost any ethnic cuisine you pick will be represented by a number of great places.

Also, our Great Neighborhood Restaurant Program has a number of inexpensive locations, including some of the best Thai restaurants in town.
