    Hi All,

Some recent activity in the Pequod's/Burt's Place thread, reminded me that it has been way too long since I have enjoyed one of Burt's masterful creations. Therefore, I was planning on going there this upcoming weekend. After all, what better way to round off a holiday full of rampant gluttony than by eating a pizza (or 3)? Since pizza is always best enjoyed in the company of a group of friends, I was hoping some LTHers might be interested in holding a short-notice pizza party at Burt's Place this Sunday evening.

Josephine reminded me that Burt has that wonderful wrought iron and grape-vine festooned outdoor patio, which we may be able to make use of. I have never sat out there, but it always looked inviting (in a well-worn and overgrown sort of way). And if that isn't enough to get you interested, apparently our good buddy, Mr. Roadhouse, will also be working there throughout this weekend. Josephine also suggested a stop at the "Bringer Inn" (how can you resist the name?) around the corner, which is a friendly old-school tavern that has existed since the founding of Morton Grove.

BTW, the Metra Milwaukee District North Line stops about 1/2 block from Burt's and runs until 11:18pm on the weekends. I will be driving there from RP, so if anybody needs a ride from the Red or Yellow line, let me know.

A sincere request here for a phone call with a heads up as to how many are expected once all parties have been heard from.

I know it's not entirely realistic, but if you folks could get an advance order ready it would be extremely helpful.

Looking forward to seeing a bunch of LTHers come Sunday,

    Buddy

So far, it looks like a pretty small group. If anybody else is interested in joining us, please post here or send me a PM, so I can give Buddy and Burt a heads up. Thanks.

    LTH,

I plan on being at the Bringer Inn, a pleasant old school tavern, for a pre Burt's bourbon at 5pm or slightly before.

Hope to see an LTHer or three at the Bringer Inn, I'll be the fellow in the black shirt having a heated discussion about BBQ. :)

Burt's is slightly North of Lincoln at Ferris, Bringer Inn is a few blocks South of Ferris on Lincoln.

    Enjoy,
    Gary

What a great meal and company!

I am glad I was able to rearrange my schedule to make the trip. Brought along a few non-LTH friends and we all had a great time.

Also, a big shout goes out to Buddy Roadhouse who was the perfect host and it was great to meet the infamous Burt.

You know, sometimes we have just too much fun!

Great time, as usual. I'll admit the habañero, while excellent, great flavor, had somewhat challenging heat levels. I took it slow, and washed it down with some of the beer (on draft, umm, undistinguished ... Dave had some more descriptive characterizations), although fortunately it was followed up with a bottle of Great Lakes Burning River Pale Ale, a nice version of the style. Beer dilutes capsaicin.

Thanks to Dave for arranging, and thanks to Gary for suggesting to Burt that he might not want to use all the habañeros Gary brought on a single pizza.

BuddyRoadhouse was the perfect host, and of course Burt (who turned 70 the day before) was his usual uniique, iconoclastic self.

My good friend Panther In The Den invited me to meet at Burts for pizza. Was it good? Good enough to bring me here to register. I love pizza and this was some of the best I have eaten. Not a drop of greeeezzzzzeeeee. Just a pure pleasure to eat.

It was a pleasure meeting Burt and discussing pizza with him. I'd also like to thank the forum members that were there for the great conversation.

I live about 40 miles south, but just might take my family on a little road trip up to Burts. The pizza was that good :D
