This is just wonderful -- and really strange. I love the Japanese guy who demonstrates all the veggie instruments and plays "Angels We Have Heard on High" on a broccoli ocarina. Surprisingly sweet sounds coming from those veggies. And his enthusiasm is endearing -- kind of a Mr. Rogers aspect to it. The veggie orchestra (Scandinavian?), while still interesting, was a little less engaging and looked like something you'd see at a Slow Food event -- more a social commentary/experiment than a "golly, isn't this cool and fun" like the Japanese guy's presentation.
Of course, it's not hard to understand how carrots and broccoli can be turned into a playable instrument. I just wonder why.
