Woot! is a weird shopping site that I mainly visit to listen to their strange podcasts. Their deal is that they sell each product offered for one day only. Most of the stuff is electronic gizmos for geeks (today it's remote-control toy helicopters -- the song is cute) but sometimes they have housewares. (They also have a separate, weekly
Wine.Woot!)
Way up at the top of the
main Woot! page, they have something called a "side deal." Today, it is refurbed 5-quart stand mixers from KitchenAid at $119.99 via Amazon. It's a very good price if you've been jonesing for a KitchenAid, so you might want to act fast.
The link from the Woot! site says specifically that it's only good today. I did some poking around and found
another route to the page, which may last longer, but I don't know.
The biggest drawback I see is that these things last so long that if what you really want is a bigger more powerful model (or a zippy new color -- these are white only), it'll be hard to bring yourself to replace it. I'm still using my 20-year-old 4 1/2-quart model which is in great shape and although there are times when I'd like more capacity and power, I don't bake enough to justify it, even at this price.
