SPOON THAI - why closed?

Headed to Spoon last night only to find it shut down. Looked like some construction was going on the sidewalk out front. Anyone know how long Spoon's shut down???

I ate there about ten days ago, didn't notice any preparations for construction or anything.

I, too, ate there about 10 days ago. No sign about anything. It's that time of year when 1/2 the city is under construction. Usually the businesses stay open, especially a place with a good delivery business like Spoon...

(For the record, the spicy did not get the baby out)

I think there may be some confusion in this post between Spoon on Western and Thai Spoon in the south loop.

I'm not sure if there's any confusion, but Spoon Thai on Western was definitely closed last night. The entire sidewalk in front of the restaurant had been torn up, making the entrance completely inaccessible. I imagine once the work is complete, everything will be back to normal.

Some construction seems an understatement.

I spoke briefly to Chai, he said, somewhat optimistically, they would reopen Saturday 7.28.07, but, as they are installing a new tile floor in the restaurant, it may be Sunday.

FYI, rode my bike by Spoon earlier tonight and there were diners in the restaurant and the giant hole in the sidewalk outside appeared to have been filled in or at least covered over.
