Well, I guess that since it appeared that we were trying to get a count, I made an incorrect assumption. I've also never been to this restaurant so I don't know how big (or small) it is. See you tomorrow!

I'm a west suburbanite and just saw this now. If it's not too late, I'd love to attend.

For the sake of a little organization, here is a list of those who will/may attend based on responses:

dicksond
Jean Blanchard
HB
Flip
wak (2)
Threadkiller
dodger
Diannie (2)

milic13 / cjchops (?)
Greenfish (?)

That's 10 yes and three maybe. Maybe some others too?

I just called them up and they said that we should make a reservation, so I made one under the name of "LTH" (also under my name Bill, maybe) for 12 people at 6:30 pm. I'm sure we can make it larger if more people want to join.

I've never been to this restaurant, just the one downtown, so I don't have more to add.

BTW, Address is:

1331 W Ogden Rd
Downers Grove, IL 60515
630-663-0303

To describe the restaurant:

about 10-11 booths line the outside perimeter of the dining room. There are 2 tables for larger (9-10 ppl) on one side and 4 4-tops on the other. Total capacity for the restaurant is about 75, and that would be pushing it. If we have 12 people I wouldn't be surprised if we are divided in some fashion.

Unfortunately I got a late start this morning and can't make it now. I'll watch out for the next one for sure.

Thanks wak for calling LSC. I was traveling, just got back today. I Look forward to seeing you all this evening. Since we are dining at 630pm, I do not think that space will be a problem, but Flip is right that past 8-10 people, we probably will have two tables, but that should not be a problem.

not to veer off-topic but...

A moment of silence please - the Championship White Sox are officially gone.

D, I'm sorry, but I told you so!

So, how about we rename this dinner the official Cubs return to the top of the division celebratory event?

Or look for the big table(s) with a diverse group of people sharing a lot of different food and conversing quite actively.

Once you get the hang of it, you can actually walk into a restaurant and pick out tables of LTH'ers who are there separately. Not sure why that is but it has happened to me more than a couple of times.

That's cheating, those are the latecomers! :)

Actually, it really is amazing that it's easy to find us.

Anyway, given the kind of day I've had, this LTH dinner is looking good. Excellent food, interesting company? Count me in, please.

I will try not to be late. ;)

Many thanks to Dickson for planning, and wak for making the reservation. I don't think I would be wrong to say everyone had a good time. Even though we broke the bank at $15 per person.

What was eaten (Sorry no pictures)

Apps:
- Beef & Maw Sze chuan style
- Sze chuan Dumplings
- Jellyfish
- Scallion Pancake

Entrees
- Tony's 3 chili chicken crack (It was accidentally ordered as heroin)
- Lamb with pure cumin
- Dry chili 5 spice Rabit
- House Special spicy sole fish fillet
- Salt & Pepper Ribs
- Pan-fried spicy sliced pork

Sides
- Sze chuan string beans
- eggplant in Garlic Sauce

Jean, it was a pleasure to meet you and your husband
Diane, it was nice to meet you and your husband as well
Wak & dodger, even though we didn't get to have much conversation over the large table it was nice to meet you as well.

TK, Greenfish, & Dickson - a pleasure as always

This was my first LTH event and I enjoyed it. Thanks to all for attending and allowing me to sample dishes it would be difficult to try on my own.

I had a great time - now somebody needs to post one of the other places and pick a date!

[My travel schedule for work means I'm going to be away most weeknights from 8/14-8/23, so selfishly I think you should pick something I'm not fond of for one of those dates, like Thai or Vegan. :) ] More seriously, I usually know my travel schedule for about four weeks out.... Mondays and Thursdays are generally better than Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Speaking of Thai, Has anyone been to Benjarong in Westchester? They do a nice Pad Thai, and there pad kee mao would be difficult to top. I am also a fan of their Tom Yum Gung( Shrimp Soup), but be warned on the soup, unless you have a cast iron stomach, this may be the meal that just keeps on giving.

It is to be encouraged - good compthis will work for you?
