Has anyone been to Kay Soul Haitian Restaurant on North Sheridan Road? Just wondering if it is still there and worth trying.

Also, is Au Rendez-vous in Evanston still open?

    Thanks.

That does not seem to be the right address -- which is the corner of Bryn Mawr at Sheridan Rd -- NW corner -- no signage -- is it in someone's apartment or what?

    SG,

If there is a mistake it is not jiahuo's. I looked up the address and, as a moderator edit, took the liberty of adding the address and phone number to the post.

In double checking the address that is what it seems to be, but only a drive by, or better yet, a visit will tell for certain.

    Enjoy,

    Gary --

I did walk by -- since 5600 N Sheridan is a scant half block from my apartment & were it there, I would venture to try it this weekend

    Alas.

Thank you all for looking into this. I had seen a few references to Kay Soul online but could not find detailed information. I recently tried calling the number but couldn't quite make out the voice mail message.

Please know that there was no intent to mislead anyone about the restaurant! (I was about to trek out there myself.)

Does this mean that there are no Haitian restaurants in the Chicago area? Or perhaps they are not well publicized?

I'm willing to go and force whomever lives there to cook me Haitian food. Will report back.

Just saw that this restaurant had opened up, and remembered that we had left this thread unanswered. I guess our dreams have been answered! Figured I'd update this thread in case anyone stumbles upon it.

There's a good chance we'll have the next Evanston Lunch Group™ at Sweet Nick's. Stay tuned.
