Has anyone seen Ommegang Ommegeddon locally? Guess I will have to try to swing by Sam's and take a look. Sounds like a very interesting beer with the addition of Brett. I think I could live at that brewery!

FYI- Called Sam's and they said they should have it in next Tues or Wed.

I believe that it is on tap at Hopleaf.......haven't seen it in the bottle just yet. also heard that the brett really hasn't made it's presence yet and requires a little more aging. cheers.

Just grabbed a bottle from Lush on Roscoe... Apparently they were just stocked today: 6 bottles total, $14 a pop (if I'd looked at the price before bringing it to the counter, I might have grabbed something else).

Trying to decide if I should drink it tonight, or keep it for a few months...

West Lakeview Liquors says they now have it in stock too.

*Update - I just bought a bottle of Omegendon at West Lakeview Liquors. They said they got ten cases in. Since they recommend you cellar it for 6 months, they are selling 5 cases now and the other 5 in six months.

Stopped into Sam's after a 3 beer dinner at Goose Island with the wife last night. Grabbed some bottles for $12.99, I believe.
Is it odd that my wine rack only holds beer??

Well, I inadvertently "cellared" my Ommegeddon for the recommended 6 months and gave it a go last night.

It's a pretty nice beer. It doesn't possess nearly the funk that the bottle (or the name suggests), but that's more a criticism of the marketing than the brew. My wife, who rejects Jolly Pumpkin ales and Belgian geueze of various stripes, downed this with no problem and moderate enjoyment.

The flavors are pretty clean, with a slight sourness. The alcohol is pretty well-concealed for an 8% beer. While I'm game for another bottle, the price ($10-12, I think) stacks it up against some pretty tough competition, unlike the cheaper Ommegang products which give you a lot of bang for the buck.

It's pretty widely available. I've seen it at Whole Foods as well. I think I have seen 6-packs at Binny's.
