3rd Year Anniversary Dinner...Like Bistro Campagne?

My boyfriend and I will be celebrating our 3-year anniversary next Wednesday and I'm trying to find a romantic restaurant.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Bistro Campagne a couple of years ago and I'm tempted to go back, but I'm always looking to try something new.

He is not a drinker and at most, I'd have a glass of wine. With that being said, I'd say I'd like dinner to be at most $50 a person, after tax and tip. Appetizers and dessert are optional (if you suggest something with phenomenal entrees, we'd be fine with skipping the latter).

From other posts on here, it seems Erwin's food is only OK, Cafe Absinthe a little too crowded at times and rather loud and we've already done Geja's.

Cuisine isn't a huge factor, though I'd say I'd rather not do seafood or Italian.

Any suggestions?

If you are a Bistro Campagne fan perhaps you want to try their restaurant in Evanston, Campagnola. It is Italian, but not overtly so.

Le Bouchon. Classic French Bistro. You'd think you were in a nie restraunt is a small town in Normandy.

Only problem with Bouchon-it's as romantic as attending a cock-fight.
(Carlywood is not into loud and crowded)

Then Cafe Matou, which is less noisy, perhaps.

Yes, Matou would be a good alternative.
