So I am kind of stuck at home with a newborn, but I was craving Sabatino's chicken parm. So I suggested to my hubby that we get it to go. We went to the website and saw the menu and it said it was 13.50. So we ordered two and then we wound up taking it to my mom's so we actually ordered 4.
When I ran in to get it the waitress said it was 86$!! I said that is not the price that is on the website and she just shrugged.

We get to my moms and open all the food.....

The soup was good. The salad was awful. It was all iceberg cores
But the worst was the chicken. It had a nasty fish taste. The chicken itself was chewy but I thought that might be from the 10 minute car ride.

So, should I call the manager and complain?

I wouldn't hesitate to do so. That salad, at least, sounds like an obvious mistake. Not sure why a car ride would make chicken chewy (that's one for McGee).

Well I did call and I spoke to the owner. I wanted to know exactly what each entree cost and why it was so much more than online. He said the prices went up a few days ago and that the website does not reflect it yet.

I explained that I ran in to pick up the order out of the pouring rain an the place was packed so I didn't take a good look at the bill, I paid it after the waitress had shrugged and said that prices had gone up. But when I got home I realized that they must have gone up alot for the bill to be that high.

Well, it turns out they overcharged me 18 $! He profusely apologized for the overcharge and the issues I had with the food. He also took one of the orders off of the bill as well.

So I am glad it got resolved , but I am not sure I'll ever go back.

That's too bad, because this sounds like an isolated incident (in terms of the quality of the food). It also sounds like the restaurant made good on compensating you for the overcharge. Sabatino's is a very good restaurant. You owe it to yourself to go back so they can redeem themselves. I'd suggest eating in next time.

We would have eaten in but we have a 2.5 year old and an 8 week old. I wouldn't do that to the patrons!!!

Good point. If you ever do get a night out though, really do give Sabatino's another shot. Went for the first time about 2 months ago and have been back twice since and I've had nothing but wonderful food and truly excellent service. I have to say that each meal has been perfectly paced and when you eat in the meal is nothing short of a bargain due to the gratis pizza bread that seem to come with every meal and the included soup and salad (never had any cores in mine but I've also never had takeout). I'm actually not at all surprised they raised their prices as they always seemed very low to me for what you get.
