    Categorize as you will, but I will be bringing the world's best baked beans and LDC has committed to a dessert, likely involving chocolate.

    We'll be joining you too (2 in total). We're looking forward to meeting all the people we've read so much from!

    I'll be bringing Zuppa Inglese from Marcella Hazan's amazing cookbook. And something else... but we haven't decided yet.

    See you then!

    You can count me in as well, bringing my wife and 3 month old along. I may bring figs with prosciutto and balsamic vinegar (and lots of formula, if anyone wants to partake). We probably won't be there until after 1pm.

    As you can imagine, jimthebeerguy and i are bummed that glass bottles are not allowed. Obviously this means we cannot bring beer (good beer). Would anyone be interested in chipping in for a keg?

    We're bringing 3 kiddos along, so, we'll be a party of 5.

    Our contributions to the picnic will be:

    * homemade salsa, with sour cream & mexican tortilla chips
    * 2 liter of grapefruit pop (jarritos brand, if i can find it!!!)
    * taffy apple salad
    * a few foam plates (about 40)

    We're so looking forward to seeing everyone!!!

    edited because I'm from the NW, where we call it "pop," not "soda"!

    HI,

    Last year enough people spontaneously brought beer, that the keg brought by Josephine was never finished.

    Hi Cathy,

    Leftover beer is the kind of problem I like to have.

    I will give some thought to what might be done in this regard. Consider me on it!

    dickson and bride will bring roasted potato, mint and garlic salad (a classic), plus at least 40 plastic cups.

    I see wine is out, since I cannot bring glass (okay, I suppose it would be fun to bring some box wine, and I may just do that).

    I made a beet/feta salad sometime ago and it was quite good. I think it also had walnuts and mesclun greens and was dressed with simple olive oil/vinegar combo.

    I agree. However, it does relate to the picnic, because of the "no glass container" rule. Maybe you could leave a link in this thread for people who have concerns.

    We are looking at our schedules and thinking of coming based on that. Would people be interested in us doing 2-3 cocktails? Probably something based on weather but a classic or 2 and something modern. We'd figure out a solution to the glass issue (from personal experience they don't tend to care as long as they aren't drinking glasses or beer bottles, issues surrounding wine bottles poured into plastic and liquor bottles poured into plastic seem to be a non-issue).

    Note that my comment was an aside and not a note of what we would do- we would bring our liquors in plastics (mainly nalgenes). I hope I didn't imply that we wouldn't be violating the picnic rules, though it was just an aside.
