I need recommendations for steak and seafood restaurants in the Fort Myers, Florida area. I will be there in November with my brother-in-law for a few days. Also, are there any all-you-can-eat crab or lobster places around there?
    Thanks

I often travel to Naples, Florida, which is a bit outside of Fort Myers, but close enough that I fly into the Fort Myers airport. Naples is completely differerent than Fort Myers, and if you have the time and inclination, I think it's worth the side trip. If you use the "search" feature on this forum, you'll find some recs for Naples.

Pinchers would be my crab shack of choice. The Prawnbroker has pretty good seafood. My favorite restaurant in the area is Cru, although it's a bit pricey. Cin Cin has good Mediterranean cuisine. For lunch, The Beached Whale on Ft. Myers beach has a nice rooftop deck and some of the best fried grouper around. I can't recommend any steakhouse in Ft. Myers. There's a very good Ruth's Chris is in Coconut Point Mall, about 20 minutes south in Estero. Also in that same mall is Blue Water Bistro with terrific seafood.

I've been logging some time in Ft. Myers on business lately and have found one place that I think would meet your criteria. Blue Pointe Restaurant is located in the Bell Tower Shopping Center. The serve a great menu of fresh seafood, and an oyster bar that serves 6-10 different types of oysters based on availability. They make their menu daily based upon the freshest seafood available. They tend to serve their fresh fish with some creative sauces.

Blue Pointe is one of the few places that I have found worthy of recommnedation in Fort Myers.

The link below is to their menu:

Bistro 41 in the Bell Tower Shopping Center is solid. Ft. Myers is not a haven for top eats but this Bistro offers great grilled fish and nice wines by the glass.

Mrs Willie & I were stuck in S Florida the past few days, based on your post RevrendAndy, we went to a Pinchers location (Gulf Coast Town Center) as it was walking distance from our hotel.

Raw/peel & eat items were VERY fresh & full of flavor, peel & eat shrimp were cooked perfectly (Gulf shrimp/oysters).

I had the rock shrimp special, which were in shell & sautéed scampi style. Sadly they overcooked them, this could have been an outstanding dish.

Mrs Willie had the grouper tacos which were ok, I don't think this is one of Pincher's best items.

Pinchers has an all day happy hour, all drinks are buy one get one.

I think Pinchers was a very good rec and we were happy with our meal, clearly they do some items better than others, just good to know.
I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.

Glad you liked it Willie. We usually go for happy hour to get a great deal on oysters, clams, steamed clams, and decent wings. They also have a pretty good boom boom shrimp(stolen from the bang bang at Bonefish). They don't do as well on cooked items.
