UGH! Southport Grocery got rid of their tater tots.

Horrible!

I went there for lunch today hoping to have either a burger and a steak sandwich with their tots and that dipping sauce.

Apparently the chef took them off the menu and now is serving a potato-mash. When asked what that is, the server
mentioned it is kind of like mashed potatoes, but they are out of it. So no tater tots. No Potato mash (at noon on a Monday).

So we ask what else we could get as a side and he goes... Umm, fruit or we could do like a small greens salad. We finally were able to get some hash browns out of the ordeal but he mentioned to us he got yelled at for it. And of course when we were checking out we see their 6 or so pre-made salads in their cooler, none of which were offered up.

Bummer.

Unless my experience was an aberration, good call on the chef's part. Tater tots should not be reheated. Hot and crispy from the fat, or not at all.

My past experiences there had been they came out hot and fresh from the fryer. Obviously this would vary, but was just a letdown followed up by not much else to replace them.

Although, when I was checking out their salads in the cooler they looked nice and would have been a good option had they been offered..
