Pizza & Mexican!

Hi Everyone-

Sorry if this has been discussed to death, I am new to forums, etc.

I would like to ask your collective expertise, and could you possibiliy recommend an inexpensive, but nice & tasty Pizza and Mexican place? A little nicer than your average place, with good food, but not too pricey. Any suggestions in the Chicago area would be greatly appreciated.

This thread has a lot of good discussion of Mexican spots, especially those with a more pleasant and tidy sit-down atmosphere.

As for pizza... well, there are pizza places in Mexican neighborhoods, of course, and there are fast food places that have both tacos and pizza by the slice, say, but I can't think offhand of a place that does both things well enough to recommend. I think you should eat pizza in pizza places and Mexican food in Mexican restaurants. Here's a good pizza thread that mentions a number of places.

I should have been clearer! I am aksing for seperate suggestions, I love both types of food, and am torn if I want to go to a Mexican place or have Pizza, so I am asking for suggestions for both kinds of restaurants. And pick one. Not the 2 combined. Sorry...

You actually could combine them, in a death row last meal kind of way. Tortas USA and Art of Pizza are mere steps from one another on Ashland: 3057 North and 3033 North Ashland respectively. That's a pretty formidable Mexican/Pizza one-two punch.
