    Hello fellow LTH'ers,

Seeing as there has been some interest on the board (and at the Le Titi dinner) in getting some dinners going the NW burbs, I'd like to suggest Wed Oct 10.

Venue: Flamingo's or Asian Bistro, I have now been in conversation with the chef of Flamingo's and the mgr of Asian Bistro and have expressed a desire to have meal of "not the usual "westernized" food that one finds up and down the street". They both are eager to hook us up.

I have no preference for one over the other, so upon flipping a coin, Flamingo's won (for the 1st NW meal). A prior LTH Flamingo's thread can be found here: http://www.lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=9965

Who is interested in a "custom" meal on Wed Oct 10 @ Flamingo's?
I would think 7pm would be an ideal start time to give folks coming from the city and elsewhere time to get here.In fairnes to the chef, I told him that I would give him the firm number of people attending by Oct 3rd. No more and please no less after that date so that the chef's expectations can be managed.

    THANKS

I'm a definite maybe; although I'm usually on the road on Wednesdays, that's a short week due to Columbus Day so most of my clients don't want to have visitors. I should know by 10/1.

I'd be very interested, but have to vote for a 7pm start time b/c I have to commute from the City back home via the Metra and pick up my car.

Count on a ride to/from if needed, just pm me before the day of the event to let me know.

Great to see all the interest, Chef Jorge is going to be very pleased !!!

Is there a dollar amount that anyone will not go over? I was thinking of offering Chef ~$25 per person now that we have a decent number of folks.

EDITED TO ADD: COST IS $30pp (tax/bev not included)

Don't know how I overlooked the original post, but I'd like to be included, if there's still room. And the price looks perfect.

As I mentioned in another thread, I talked with the chef at the end of my lunch at Flamingo's on Wednesday. I mentioned that it had been an LTHForum thread that had called my attention to it, and that I understood a group reconnoiter was being discussed for Oct 10th. This info may have been overtaken by more recent planning, but my sense was that Chef Jorge was a little bit nervous about serving 15-20 people well with all ordering separately, and was hoping that perhaps four or so main dishes could be agreed on in advance. (Duh! may be your reaction.)

This looks good to me too. I would like to attend. I don’t need to order off of the menu, a chef selection family style would be ok with me.

    NOTE: To jygach

Are you still planning a 9/18 dinner at Bapi”s?

BTW, no problem on letting chef Jorge choose (some of) the menu for us. With a group this size, it's probably best to let the house choose the service option that will allow them to accomodate us most efficiently.

    done.

I'll check with Chef, as we are approaching 20, I believe he wanted a limit around this number.
