    Pinoy Oriental Food Mart
    8824 N. Milwaukee Ave, Niles
    (847) 391-1525

Just north of Dempster, west side of the street. They've also got a small but comprehensive prepared food counter at the back of the store.

Uni-Mart One Stop Shop has multiple locations around Chicago. The one in the city is at

    5845 N. Clark St.
    Chicago, IL 60660
    (773) 561-8667

Their website, Unimartonestop.com, lists the other locations.

The grocery stores on Argyle generally have most of the ingredients needed for Filipino recipes. I usually go to Tai Nam. Chicago Food Corp is also a good option, but it's a distant second (as far as Filipino ingredients are concerned).

    Tai Nam

    Chicago Food Corp

There is also another small grocer/takeout at Touhy and Crawford in Skokie that G Wiv discusses here: http://lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=12215

    RC Oriental Outlet
    3935 W Touhy
    Lincolnwood, IL. 60712
    847-674-2120

Of those mentioned, I think I like Pinoy Foods the best.

Thanks to lowjones and d4v3-I appreciate the preference for Pinoy, since I have to narrow it down at some point.

It depends what you're looking for, but I was very surprised to discover a few months ago that the Dominick's closest to me carries suka, Mama Sita's adobo and kare-kare mix, banana ketchup...and a few other things.

Also, just across the street from that Dominick's is a Butera that I think also carries the aforementioned items plus a few more. I never would have thought there'd be the demand for these things in my neighborhood (in contrast to, say, Niles), but there'll all there, granted with prices slightly higher than you'd find at Filipino markets.

I also meant to say that Korean places like H Mart stock a variety of Filipino items, again depends on what you need.

    Thanks Happy,
I planned to go to h-mart after visiting Pinoy, since I don't find myself in Niles often.
