Would people be up for a weeknight meeting up at the violet hour in the near future? I'm trying to make this not a last minute thing, but I can see if I can arrange a back section for us.

Yeah! I'm definitely interested. I was just telling a non-Chicago friend that we have to go to Violet Hour next time he visits.

I'm thinking about having this not next week, but the following week- are there days that are better or worse for you?

So that's the week of October 8? I can't do Wednesday or Thursday, but any other day should work.

I'm definitely interested, and fairly flexible about night of the week.

My understanding is that VH doesn't open until later (8 pm or later?) Just wanted to verify, but I'd probably come from work even so...

We have definite interest in a weeknight outing. In fact we were planning on meeting another couple (from the board) up there soon anyway so it'd be great to make it a larger LTH outing. Earlier in the week is usually better for us, but as our schedule changes constantly don't let us be the "deciderers" (borrowed "word")

Monday, October 8th at 8:30 would seem to work quite well. It's a nice slower night so we will tend to get some better attention.

Yes, indeed! We'd been planning to meet Molly and Justin but didn't get around to it before I had sinus surgery which has had me feeling blech-y for a little over a week now.

Would prefer a Monday or Wednesday night...but could probably finagle another night as well.

I'm interested, not sure about the DH (he's not into cocktails much). Can't do Tuesday.

I second Monday and could also be game for a bite before or after (or during, haven't experienced their snacking options yet).

We could very easily arrange something for before- that way for those for whom it is a week night they can get home to those they need to see. Other than Spring, it's kind of a culinary wasteland on that corner, but if people are willing to walk a few blocks up Damen, Bluebird ain't bad.

I'm up for eating beforehand (and walking as necessary). If I wait until 8:30, I know I will be drunk in under 10 minutes, and LTH just isn't ready for that. Ah, the life of lightweight...

I'm interested in attending, and though I agree that it's mostly a culinary wasteland, I think Bin Cafe is more than decent for a bite to eat prior to an imbibing session. The pizzas are especially good.

We could do Bin Wine Cafe as well. It's actually a bit closer. I'm going to try and set up the Violet Hour for 10, though if we see more interest I am happy to up it. I'm off to lunch.

I've been to Bin 3 times in the last month and had good food each time, though I have no comparison point as these were my first 3 visits.

All- I've been trying and trying to get there this past week and can't, and now I'm scheduled to leave town for Indiana tomorrow- could I ask that we postpone this one week to the 15th?

If we do this, whenever we do this, I'd rather start at approx 8 pm at Violet Hour, instead of 10 pm, since I have to be up around 5 am most days....

If LTHers are still planning on coctails at the Violet Hour this Monday (tomorrow), I'll definitely stop by. Is the plan still to meet at 8?

Well, y'all, I'm still recovering from sinus surgery and it's pretty much touch and go as to whether I'll be up to it tomorrow...some days I feel great and have boundless energy, other days, like today, my nose still hurts and I can't do much more than sit and stare...

So...since I have Molly's #, I'll call you guys if we'll be joining you...but don't want to make any real promises either way.

I'm still interested in tomorrow, but not totally sure about my availability. Earlier would be better for me, even before 8, but then, if I can't make it, that doesn't matter at all...

I don't want to commandeer the planning of this event, but I want to firm up what I'm doing. Can we just say we'll meet at 7pm at the Violet Hour? It's earlier than the original meet-up time but leaves enough room for people to get there. Any major objections?
