If Jimthebeerguy hasn't changed his mind, we were planning on eating at Double Li tonight and we need help with not screwing up our order. If we go tonight, we'd love to have someone join us and make sure the waiter understands what we want.

Apparently the chili chicken at Double Li's is better than Tony's 3 Chili chicken - not something you want to miss!

I don't agree with this statement at all, although I enjoyed my visit to Double Li and will be going again tonight, or at least very soon. The black pepper beef tenderloin and the tofu quinelles are a different story and are well worth seeking out. (Not that the chili chicken at double Li is bad by any means).

What time are you thinking? If 7pm works for you, Cookie and I will be there. Double Li has been at the top of my "to try" list since I first heard about it.

    Best,

I don't agree with the Chili Chicken being better. In fact, while I enjoyed my meal there, I don't belive much of anything I ate there was better.

Sorry I can't join you tonite, but I have to see a man named Tino. Thanks Steve.

LOL! I enjoyed the Dry Chili at Double Li quite a bit and posted that their "rendition stacks up against it [LSC's version] quite favorably." But I didn't exactly say it was better.

In any case, I cannot make it tonight but if another meal gets scheduled for sometime in the future, I'll do my very best to be there.

I'd like to report a delightful assault by garlic, chilis and Szechuan peppercorns.
Accompanied by beer and bourbon (a recurring motif), the food was truly memorable, the company truly stimulating and the bill truly cheap. Mr Li took great delight in our enjoyment of his potent cooking, and everyone responded enthusiastically, packing away an impressive amount of it. Cameras were snapping away, so I'm sure photos and a complete description will follow shortly.
Thanks again for a great short-notice meetup.

What a wonderful dinner. Thanks for coming, everybody!

My favorite part (food-wise, aside from the awesome company) was the garlic chives, which I intend to look for on my next H-mart trip. Here is a recipe I found for Szechuan garlic chive bundles, if anyone is interested: http://www.astray.com/recipes/?show=Garlic-chive%20bundles.
