Mods - feel free to merge this into another thread- I searched for Chicago Tribune and couldn't find a single thread easily to put this in.

OK, forgive my language but what the hell is up with the Tribune's dining section?

Front page: Ralph Lauren's restaurant vs. Red Lobster? An article about bar hopping in wrigley? Ok, let's get to the inside- what a fantastic review Blu 47 where Vettel confused cajun and creole completely, oh and did I mention that it took him about oh 200 or so words to even start talking about the food? Let's talk about the fact that both Red Lobster and Olive Garden were given prominent features. Chicago deserves better professional food writing than this.
is making all his reservations under the name Steve Plotnicki from now on.

I agree that the comparison of Ralph Lauren and Red Lobster was pretty silly, but I believe that this (and the Olive Garden and Wrigleyville articles that you cited) was actually in the "At Play" section, and not the "Dining" section.

Apologies- you are correct, I figured since the full name is At Play, chicagoland's best guide to dining and leisure made this the dining section.

At Play is where the dining section resides. But I agree - RL v. RL was just about the silliest piece of food writing I've seen. Don't get me started on the Good Eating section.
