Berwyn is celebrating the 39th annual Houby Festival today from 11am-6pm. One of the vendors is selling fresh and dried mushrooms.

    Varieties which were available yesterday:

    Fresh:
    Portabella
    Chanterall
    Lobster
    Large White
    King Oyster
    Shaitakai
    Honshimeji

    Dried:
    Porcini
    Black Trumpet
    Wood Ear
Gourmet blend of many of the above.

There's also another vendor selling mushrooms, though I don't know what varieties.

Berwyn Main Street's Houby Fest is being held between East Ave and Ridgeland Ave, on the South side of Cermak Rd.

We've also got lots of Czech beers.

Anyone have suggestions of what to do with a half pound of dried mushrooms? I'm thinking a soup.

Soups is a great idea. So is risotto if you're into that type of thing.

I'll also sometimes throw a handleful of dried mushrooms in some warm butter and milk before adding it to mashed potatoes. Just let them steep for awhile before incorporating.
