I went by Lawrence and Clark last week to pick up some carry-out Nigerian from B & Q Afro-Root Cuisine and saw that it was no longer there - no note on the door, no nothing! From the looks of things (rapidly encroaching development) I wonder if they lost their lease. Does anybody here know what happened? Did they set up shop somewhere else? I'd hate to lose them; they're my second-favorite Nigerian in Chicago (after Qaato).

Well, I can tell you that just yesterday I noticed two new dumpsters in an alley near me with stickers on them that said "BQ Afro Root Cuisine, 4701 N. Kenmore, Chica". However, this address is presently an empty former storefront church in a building that's in the process of being renovated. I'd be pleased if they're moving in, but no one is there yet.

I'll post again if I see anything new.

I walked by last night and it looks like maybe that whole building is being evacuated for sale by the owner, A Dog's Life looks to be closing, too. I sure hope it's just moving, and not far, because I was planning on using their services when I got a dog.
My guess is B&Q is in the midst of changing locations. They seemed to be so successful I'd be surprised if they just threw in the towel.

New awnings went up on the corner of Kenmore & Leland today identifying the storefront as B&Q Afro Root Cuisine. Nothing suggests when they might be open (my guess is it could be a bit) as all the windows are covered by closed mini-blinds, as they have been for months.

Well, just this week I actually saw tables, chairs, etc. inside with tablecloths on the tables, etc. They're not open yet, but this is recent progress. I've been smelling food there for several weeks (months?) and have seen people in and out. There's a catering truck that's around, so I suppose that's what's they're doing. Bulletins to come as events warrant...

I drove by today and the restaurant was packed - I didn't eat there, but it looked like they were having some sort of party or something.
