baja fish tacos

does anyone know where to get good baja style fish tacos? they don't need to be exactly like the "traditional" baja fish tacos but they should have:

1.) a fried fish filet of some sort
2.) a tangy cream/mayo sauce
3.) greens, preferably cabbage
4.) maybe tomatos/pico

any suggestions, preferably northside?

thanks, i know about issac's fish tacos in highland park but was wondering if there were any other places that served them closer to the city (and on friday nights - saturday)

The fish taco appetizer at Fonda del Mar is "Ensanada" style exactly like you describe. The dish includes two fish tacos plus a cup of spicy seafood soup for $8. It is not cheap, but not bad for the quality.

good call on baja fresh. they have very good baja style fish tacos (cabbage, fried fish, baja sauce and tomatos?). i hit up el famous burrito on clark in rogers park and tried their fish tacos...

1.) medium sized fresh fried piece of cod i believe it was
2.) orange-ish baja sauce (tangy, decent taste)
3.) lettuce (i think using cabbage goes a long way with these; i don't think lettuce works as well)
4.) tomatos
5.) wrapped in double corn tortilla

overall, its a decent taco for $2.00. the good thing about their fish taco is that they fresh fry the fish (el famous usually reheats their meat on the griddle ie carne asada burrito). cabbage would make a huge difference. baja fresh's are still better, but they are a tad bit more at $2.40 each. for the price i think el famous does it alright. now i heard On the Border does fish tacos also so i'm going to have to try them.
