A restaurant inside Grant Park?

I've heard recently that there is discussion about a proposed restaurant inside the boundaries of Grant Park. Anyone else hear anything about this?

You'd think that would be the case, but Daley seems pretty hell bent these days on developing every square inch of space in our lovely city.

I personally am against any more "improvements" to our precious little park. And, based on the couple of venues that ARE in or near Grant Park; The Park Grill, The Green at Grant Park (a horrible place that would never survive were it not for the location), etc. not excited about what would probably be next.

Disclosure; Since I live near Grant Park, I have been working hard to preserve this area as a parkland. It's an uphill battle as many entities want a piece of Grant Park to call their own, i.e. the Chicago Children's Museum, the aforementioned supposed restuarant. An update on this from sources I consider very reliable:

Apparently a well known group is pushing for new restaurant in Grant Park. That same group also is pushing for the Children's Museum for Grant Park.

I have contacted the person in question to give the person a chance to confirm or deny the rumors. I will post the response when it is received.

Until that time, people here who are concerned about the issue may want to contact their own alderman and let them know their feelings on the issue.
