Orchestra Hall

Hello everyone,

I will be attending some sort of gala event at the Orchestra Hall which is located at 220 N. Michigan Ave at Adams St.

Can anyone offer a decent restaurant, not too expensive, but something good and not Greek in that area? We will be dressed in cocktail attire, so something that would go with the theme would be nice.

Appreciate your help!

Edit: Oh and maybe something within walking distance would be great

How about Rhapsody, located right in Symphony Center? It would seem to be a natural.

The other place located right in Symphony Center is Russian Tea Time, which I quite like. They have a very extensive menu of all things Russian, as you would expect. It will be a bit less expensive than Rhapsody, but you'll be fine in both in any kind of clothes.

Not to be picky, but 220 <b>South</b> Michigan, not 220 North.

The Big Downtown (Wabash just North of Adams) is okay. I wouldn't recommend it for a special evening, but they're great for handling large groups on a moment's notice and they have something for everyone food wise. Jack of all trades, master of none, though their beer selection is pretty good.

You might give The Gage a shot. The best description I've heard is "an Irish Pub that went to culinary school." Very pleasant inside, and altho I've only had breakfast there (quite good, a bit expensive, altho not so much considering location), it's on my list for dinner.

When I attended a show at Orchestra Hall over the summer, I went to Miller's Pub before the show. I'm not sure that it really meets your criteria, but it really was quite good, and is a neat place. It is right by Symphony Center/Orchestra Hall.

Ditto on Gage...I thought it was quite good.

Last time I was there, a man came up to our table multiple times, very friendly, wanting to know how we were doing and if we were enjoying ourselves. We assumed it was a manager, but he never identified himself. It was quite funny after a while...
