    The dumpling batter has 5 1/2 cups of butter!!! It's got to be a typo -- 5 1/2 tablespoons sounds reasonable.

    Clearly a typo.

    But I'd love to see somebody try it :-)

    Just read this recipe and I agree 2.5 cups of flour with 5.5 cups of butter is way beyond an indulgent recipe. Clearly a typo - tablespoons sounds reasonable.
