Okay, so my GF and I went to a show at Park West last night and were going to go to Vietnamese BYOB spot close by, but turns out it was closed. So there was another place with a BYOB in the window and since it was raining we charged on in with our bottle of reisling in hand. What a great find!
It's called Tut, at 2233 Lincoln Ave
We tried the appetizer sampler, which was hummus, 2 falafel, 2 dolmeh, 2 kebbeh (really good), and the
best baba ghanouj that we've had in a long, long time. The ghanouj was nice and smoky, very creamy and we would have ordered more if the chicken shawerma didn't show up very quickly afterward.
The sampler is quite a deal at 11.95 since a single order of kebbeh (also 2 pcs) is 4.95 and likewise for the other stuff.
They have many salads, sandwiches and entree platters so you can go big (shawerma dinner) or small (shawerma sandwich) for example. They have many fresh juices, tasty middle-eastern desserts, arabic & turkish coffee, and many persion teas as well.
It's only been open for two weeks so we were the only customers at 7pm on a Monday night.
Oh, one other thing: they also offer hookahs with shisha to smoke, either solo or with your dinner service.
Y'all should go check it out - our waiter was very nice, but needed something to do besides read his law school books.

Kitchen's open 11am to 10pm, but they stay open late for the hookah lounge thang and have limited late munchies.

Homer: Are you saying you're never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon? Ham? Pork chops?
Lisa: Dad, those all come from the same animal.
Homer: Heh heh heh. Ooh, yeah, right, Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.
