I spoke to Patty today, and she indicated that any time is good for a group of LTH-ers -- as long as we sit at the tables as they are currently arranged-- otherwise an off-peak time is best. I say we go for lunch next Friday, 10/26. Anyone else for a hand-formed burger medium-rare with old potatoes? Post here so I'll have numbers.

    Friday 10/26 @ Noon
    Patty’s Diner
3358 Main St. (just West of McCormick)
    Skokie, IL 60076

Yes, please! Add me to the list!

PS. Although you mentioned the burgers, which are muy delicious, I'm assuming we can order elsewhere on the menu for this occasion? I think I hear some ham hash calling my name....

I'll do my best to be there . . . we'll have friends in from out of town and I'm still not sure of our schedule.

In the interest of keeping the lth calendar up to date (and me possibly attending) - has a time been decided for this?

Since we are a small group and are not going to rearrange any tables, we should be able to arrive at any time. We may end up splitting up the group. How about we aim for 12 noon? That should put us just ahead of the rush.

Thanks for the update - however, you better count me out as Friday is shaping up to be a busy one at work. No old fries for me, as I'll be lucky to squeeze in a PB&J. Ugh.

    Have fun, though!

Sorry you can't make it dfawley. Patty's will be there when you are ready, though. Also sorry about the PB& J. We will dedicate our old fry consumption to you.

It's looking unlikely that we'll be able to make it. If it changes, we'll just show up and hope for the best.

Last minute--but I'll try to join you for lunch. With people coming & going (as per this thread) it seems like there'll be room.

    Hope to see you there!

Ham hash (made with old potatoes) and eggs: $6.95
    Cup of joe: $1.50
Look on Patty's face in photo above: Priceless!

The hash was every bit as delicious as I imagined when I heard it calling my name last week.... and watching Josephine convince Patty to have her photo taken was a treat too!

Just a little side story on the atmosphere at Patty's: My first visit to Patty's was 9/18/07 with the Evanston lunch group. Somehow I missed the platter of garbage omelet being passed around that day, so I returned later that week to remedy that situation. Suzy was positively expansive, offering me a newspaper, chatting about the LTH group visit, etc. I mentioned that I would be back as soon as I could to try Patty's French toast made with homemade bread. Then unfortunately, I got extremely busy with work and didn't have a chance to get there--which is one reason I jumped at the opportunity to attend the GNR presentation lunch today. As I was leaving today, Patty was clearing our table, and she said, "I thought you were going to try the French toast the next time you came in, but you had the ham hash. Now you'll have to come back again." I was floored that she and Suzy would remember something I had mentioned in passing 5 weeks ago! That certainly made me feel like a valued customer. Don't worry, Patty--I'll be back!!!!!

I'm so sorry I missed this one.

    Congrats, Patty! :)

Gary-Thanks for posting. Since I was in the picture, I didn't get to see the look on Patty's face until now! I know she was happy about the GNR, but shy about the picture. She really is a gem, as is Susie.
