Mr. Bwiches and I are both available to have dinner tonight at the same time.

Here's my qualifiers in terms of what we're thinking:

Relatively comforting yet still somewhat healthy--I'm sick and have had a crapstorm of a day, but am trying to drop a few lbs before the holidays

No geographic restrictions, except Chicago proper.

$20-$30 per person. Yes, we are cheap.

Where would you go? I'd love to find something new that's not in our usual neighborhood stops--we're in the WickerBuckLoganesque area.

    The Brown Sack.

Perfect for when you are feeling sick (or not).

Friendship Chinese has all entrees for $8.95 on Tuesday nights. Not sure if they're seeing any real Check Please effect after last week's show -- the guests' reviews were mixed, as are my own -- but the setting is incredibly soothing after a rotten day, and nothing's a better antidote for feeling sick than Chinese food.

    It's byob -- I'm sure cough syrup counts. :)

This is too easy! It's Tuesday - I'd go with the $20 Prix-Fixe at Cafe Matou or $22 at Le Bouchon

    Banana,

Focusing in on the you're not feeling well portion of the post, there is little more restorative than the ginseng infused chicken soup at Ssyal Ginseng

    Enjoy,

    Thanks All:
Due to a last minute work chaos-type situation--why do these problems always happen at 4:55?--we ended up staying at home eating grilled cheese.

    Ho hum.

Thanks for the recs, though--I have a "free night" without the hubby tomorrow and while ginseng chicken soup is not his thing, I venture to guess, I suspect it could very well cure what ails me.
