I will third, or fifth, or fifteenth Garden Buffet; especially good with kids (provided they are sufficiently flame-retardant :) ) because of the turtle pond in the middle of the floor.

Evanston Lunch Group will be trying Bombay Kebab House which has a buffet and will likely have lots to report.

    By the way...

Walked up to the menu of Tandoor (open at the Holiday Inn on Tuohy in Niles) which is not a buffet, limited selection and seems highly overpriced.

However, Google found me another Tandoor just west on Devon and NW Highway - looks like it's got a $10.99 lunch buffet M-F and $12.99 dinner buffet on Fri & Sat nights. A closer option than Himalayan on my Super H-Mart, Niles Costco, Niles Jewel, Petersen/Cicero Whole Foods run, although we always find ourselves back at Himalayan.

We like the Barn of Barrington. On Barrington Rd, just north of 68 (Dundee), on the east side.

More of a traditional Sunday champagne brunch, tho I think they have a mashed potato bar and caviar bar as well? Large fish selection, dessert selection and nice service.

Glad to see this thread is getting some recent responses. Here's some of what I've had since late 2005:

Rezas- definitely a great meal there. Lots to choose from and the times I've gone there was quite a few people.... meaning good quick turnover of food.

Sushi Para Too - Not exactly the best sushi I've ever had, but for some decent and plentiful sushi (as much as you can stuff yourself with) at $14, I'd definitely return. What I also enjoyed was the option of all you can eat non sushi items such as gyoza, shumai, salad, etc.

Indian Grill - A couple of doors down (literally) from Sushi Para Too, this place is a good primer to Indian food. The owner has always been insightful of the buffet offerings when I brought friends new to Indian cuisine.

Mt. Everest (Evanston) - This place offers a great lunch buffet, one my husband favors over many other we've tried. I especially like their tandooi chicken, which has been done very well with moist and juicy results. Other places I've been often have slightly tough and dry tandoori chicken.

Garden Buffet on Lincoln - As many others have already commented, this is a good place for Korean BBQ. The offerings are good - with or without the BBQ option - and from the times I've dined there, they are very clean. The only downfall is the florescent lighting.

I'm headed out to Red Apple on Milwaukee later this month with my cooking group... and I'm excited to try some Polish eats. Thanks for the previous recs on Red Apple!

Someone mentioned Allgauer's Friday night seafood buffet earlier in this thread. I just went to their website and didn't see any mention of it. Since the post mentioning it is over 2 years old, I wonder if they've discontinued it. Does anyone know??

Is the garden Buffet on Lincoln still open? And what about Indian Grill. We have gone to Sushi Para II on Dundee alot and I dont remember seeing it. Our new fave buffet is Texas de Brazil in Schaumburg. SIgn up for their club online and you get 2 for 1 coupons.
