Come join me and a camera in a ,pre-Bears game lunch, pseudo-GNR celebratory lunch. And I assure you that Robert is a better cook than I am an event planner.
For those of you who remember my
narrative, I first went to the Depot for lunch before the Superbowl. 9 months later, and the Depot has become the focus on Game Day. This has as much to do with a turkey club, pie and Strawberry crush as it does the mediocre fortunes of the local team.
I'll be arriving at 1:30 and will be gone in time for kick-off (3:15). I imagine any interested parties ordering a la carte. Meals here are pretty reasonable in the $10-15 range. Parking is ample, the Bears are out of town and the Bulls are off, so traffic should be OK. If enough people are interested, I'll give a call later today to give them a bit of a head's up.
For identification purposes, I sport a
beard and will be accompanied by an Indian doctor. And if you're not interested in attending a 1940s radio serial ('Red Beard and Dr. Shah' - brought to you by Melville Foot Powder), at least come for the
new menu scoped by stevez and, as a final triumph, the long-awaited
donuts.
Post if interested and I'll see anyone there.
