Yes, it's that time of year again. Go the the local food store and pick up a box of these delectable once-a-year fruit gems for only a few bucks. These are outstanding. You've got to try them.

Post #2 - December 5th, 2007, 2:29 pmNew (to me at least) are california clementines. they are basically the same as the spanish, and the competition seems to be lowering the price. A box is on sale at dominicks for 4.88. I dont remember seeing them last year for under 5.99, at least not at chain grocery stores.

Post #6 - December 5th, 2007, 8:54 pmThe Spanish clementines I have eaten have always been considerably sweeter than the ones from California. Now I am curious to know if I have just been unlucky with my fruit selection, or do others have similar experiences?

I haven't had any experience with the Spanish vs California, but has anyone tried the Satsuma tangerines that Whole Foods has had recently? Veloute and I stopped by Whole Foods after the Maxwell Stree excursion a few weeks ago and both tried a couple.
If I could get these all the time, I'd never eat a Clementine again...and, as I said before, I love them.

Post #10 - November 13th, 2009, 3:27 pmI bought my first box of clementines for this season yesterday at Caputo's on Harlem. Nine bucks. Kinda pricey. They're so-so. A little hard and seedy. Hopefully the quality and pricing will pick up soon. Has anybody else seen any yet?What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
