Hi all, I am working up in Racine now and today I think is the first night of Hanukkah. I'd like to see if there are any places in town that might do a decent latke and even more important, chicken soup (got a bit of a cold coming on and need the Jewish penicillin). I've got a car and am pretty familiar with the area from Rt 20 to downtown.

    Thanks,
    Joel

I am in Racine. As far as soup, you can try Reflections, I find their soup pretty good, their food is another story.

You are pretty much stuck with Panera Bread as one of your best bets for soup I am afraid :( I am a soupie too. If you want to go to the Bayside you can go to Soup Otzies and that is awesome but that is a little trek there and with this weather.....

If I were in Racine I'd eat nothing but kringle morning, noon, and night.

Haha, they are good. Its a great holiday gift to our contacts outside Wisconsin. A little local flavor, better than Harry and David or Hickory Farms.

Kringle is king in Racine. The best soup in Racine can be found at Sebastian's or the Yellow Rose, both owned by Scott and Patrice Sebastian. Their food is on par with Chicago fine dining establishments and frequented by Johnson Wax execs. Yellow Rose is open for lunch and dinner. Sebastian's is dinner only. Excellent baby back ribs await your taste buds at Oh Dennis. Open evenings, I prefer carry out, since they allow smoking. Kewpee's on Wisconsin has a double cheeseburger that should not be misssed. Tino's on Lathrop is the place for a Chicago style hot dog or gyro. Their daily specials include: 2 Vienna Beef hot dogs, fries, and a drink for $4.59. Their jumbo Polish (1/3 pound) is deep fried and their gyros are excellent. Two other Racine favorites are Main Moon for Chinese and Mexico Lindo for Mexican cuisine. If you're still looking for matzoh ball soup and latkes, head to Benji's deli in Milwaukee.

After thinking about it for a moment I thought this restaurant deserved it's own thread.
