Went to Rita's on Friday night and was impressed. I have lots of friends that have always spoken highly of it, but had not tried it myself.
It's a family-run business with just seven tables in the dining room and two small tables in the bar area. We had to wait about 30-40 minutes for a table at 6:45 on a Friday night, which seemed very reasonable. We're in our early 40's and were the youngest couple by ourselves in the restaurant. There were some younger people, but they were with folks older than us.
The fish fry was clearly the reason to come, as just about everyone there was having it. You get your choice of perch or cod, along with a choice of side and choice of either soup or salad. The sides and salad were decent, but nothing you'd totally rave about.
But I will rave about the perch. It tasted fresh and the breading was done just perfect, not overly breaded and not greasy whatsoever. So if you're in the mood for a solid Midwest fish fry, head on over to Rita's.
