Not mentioned much on LTH,this is a lovely little neighborhood restaurant that has been around for years. Specialties include Mofongo con carne frita, chuletas (pork chops) ,kikiriki (a sort of chicken jibarito), and various seafood preparations including fried snapper in creole sauce and a very nice dish of assorted shellfish over mofongo. Baccalo en escabeche is sometimes available as a special.

We had a really nice dinner there tonite (the appetizer of tostones baskets filled with octopus was especially nice), but found the service a bit slow, probably because there were some extra distractions related to the filming of an upcoming episode of Check Please (scheduled to air in January).

More upscale than Borinquen or Palma, but less so than the tonier Coco across the street, this is a great neighborhood place, and an excellent choice for exploring PR cusine.
