Thanks Giving on Christmas

On this day of peace and home and family, let us, the Chicago food community, give thanks to all of the restauranteurs, chefs, cooks, waitstaff, reservationists, dishwashers, potmen, critics, journalists, designers, purveyors, and farmers who make discussion on this site possible. Even those that we have criticized make our lives richer. We criticize because we care.

And let us be mindful of the animals whose lives are taken for our pleasure (especially the ducks). We will return to earth soon enough.

And thank you to the moderators of this site and the organizers of our events, our guides and teachers.

This is a perfect opportunity for me to add my thanks as well to the Chicago food community, as I had a fantastic time visiting this past weekend. I was fortunate enough to meet several LTH'ers, who were all most gracious and made my holiday weekend the stupendous weekend it was. I only wish I could eat with you all every week.

Merry Christmas, and on this special day, think of all the less fortunate people around the world who are not as blessed to have what Chicago has. In other words, think of me next time you're slurping down Katy's noodles.
