I'm a long time lurker finally got the guts to jump in head first to LTH. I've been in South Florida (food hell  ) for 17 years. I know there are a few places down here where I can get a hot dog or a beef (Hot Dog Heaven-OVERPRICED,Windy City Beef-bland beef,Capones-nice ambience, average food). Thank god for Fat Lou's !! The menu has most of my favorites (beefs, dogs, gyros, burgers, ribs),if Lou's had a Deep Dish Pizza I'd probably eat there every night !! Speaking of pizza, absolutely the WORST :( pizza in the country has to be in South Florida. When Pizza Hut & Papa John's are voted best local pizza u know you're in trouble.Thought I'd give everyone a heads up on the food scene down in the Miami area.

OK so maybe I overexagerated about South Florida being hell but it's not even in the same ballpark as Chicago food wise. That being said if you happen to have a taste for some decent NY style thin crust pizza or maybe a really good steak sub or spaghetti I recommend Pizza Point. I've been eating at this place for almost the entire 17 years I've lived down here.My favorite is a Pizza Steak Sub (steak, mozzarella, marinara) toasted in the deck oven.

Great news for the people of South Florida that need a late night hot dog fix !!
Fat Lou's is NOW open until 3:00 a.m. Monday-Thursday and 5:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday. A much better option than sitting in the drive-thru at Taco Hell  .
Also for you poker players like myself every Thursday we play "Texas Hold-'Em" starting at about 9:00 p.m. GO CUBS

    Thanks Dolfan.

I was transplanted to miami about a year ago. Nice to know there's a place like that around. Finding good food takes a bit of work down here.

I live down on Miami Beach & so far I like:
Hakan Turkish Grill - great turkish food, great owner. alton.
Le Bon - mussels and belgian beer (get the oriental pot). lincoln road.
5 Guys Burgers - at the midtown mall
Cheese Burger Baby - good burger on washington
Lime - fish tacos on Alton
Big Pink - sofi diner. everything's pretty good.

Haven't made much effort with the pizza. I've had a piece of Pizza Rustica and is was pretty decent, especially considering it had chicken & corn. Ginos is terrible.

Someone recommended Steve's Pizza to me. http://miami.citysearch.com/review/2552186
    Haven't tried it yet.

I live very close to Steve's Pizza. New York Style thin-crust with a very sweet sauce. Plus they're open 'til 4:00am. For South Florida this stuff is pretty good. I tried 5 Guys Burgers while I was in Tampa, pretty good fast food burger and fries. I might be a little biased but I prefer Fat Lou's burgers.I received some incorrect info on Fat Lou's late hours, they are open every night until Midnight except Sundays when they close at 8:00pm.BUT the kitchen is open late for deliveries (within 5 mile radius),3:00am Monday-Thursday & 5:00am Friday & Saturday. No fine dining after midnight but for everybody in Hallandale,Hollywood,Pembroke Park area this is great news.

Fat Lou's has moved!!! New address is 3153 Hallandale Beach Blvd.,a few blocks west of the old location. While it is smaller than the old location it is WAY nicer,Hi-Def TVs everywhere with the Cubs games (I KNOW how sad),and ice cold air conditioning. And Chicago and Chicago sports memorabilia throughout the restaurant. Still the BEST Italian Beefs in all of Florida!!! Can't wait for football season, every Sunday will be filled with South Florida Bear fans and of course the Thursday night game down here vs. Dolphins I am sure Lou will be having some specials.
