Well-deserved congratulations to everyone who participated and to WTTW!

    Michelle,

I got a kick out of seeing C2 as well, she was shown quite prominently. Far as the show, I've only had a chance to watch about a 1/2-hour so far, but what I've seen so far has been both enjoyable and informative.

As an aside, anyone else notice David ""The Food Dude" Lissner answering phones?

    Enjoy,

    Cathy,

The show looked great in HD, and one of the highlites was seeing your face pop up over Geoffery Baer's shoulder every once in a while.

On December 11th, the Milt Rosenberg show will be devoted to restaurants and culinary work. (WGN, 9:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.). Guests will be GAF (Gary Alan Fine, discussing Kitchens: The Culture of Restaurant Work), Bruce Sherman of North Pond Restaurant, and perhaps an additional guest as well.

Ask Uncle Milt if he will post your program in his archives. They seem to selectively archive shows on their website.

(Also post this on Events, too.)

Go crush - but the article seems to be saying that the egg came first, whereas I would argue that the chicken did. The (exaggerated) death of the entree is not so much because people prefer not to eat entrees, but because chefs most often do better and more interesting things with the little plates. I would be happy with a regular entree, but there are so many places where the appetizers make a much better meal.

Two examples come to mind immediately - Osteria di Tramonto in Wheeling and Fonda del Mar. In repeated visits I have always found the starters to be preferable, and those are just the two that come to mind at the moment.

Plus you do get more variety while not eating or spending quite so much, as the article does say.

    Good article.

I agree completely, and if you could see a transcript of the interview, I mentioned this--the context of my quote was that people want the adventure without the commitment (although not nearly as cleverly worded as "dating food before marrying it")--people are more likely to go for a snibble of sweetbreads as opposed to a whole plate full of it. And, also that chefs tend to have more fun with the little bites, but are more risk-averse with the bigger-portioned entrees.

I'm bummed she didn't include one or two of Chicago restaurants I mentioned.

I received an email asking if I would be interested to be a guest on the Rachel Ray Show. So I called back and said sure. Then the productionette asked me if I could send her my "tape" (i.e., the tape of my appearances). Well, I don't have a tape of TV appearances. Apparently - at least as far as the Rachel Ray show goes - you can't be on TV unless you have already been on TV. (Milt Rosenberg doesn't count - actually I have been on CBS, Fox News, local television - but don't have a tape). My fifteen minutes of fame has been postponed: no pancake makeup for me. Ms. Ray will just have to learn how to make brownies without my help!

(Actually they were interested in a segment on gossip - a topic on which I have done some writing).

    Hi,

You should really contact the television stations you once were interviewed. They may have it archived and accessible. You'd be surprised if you got into notable trouble, how fast those archives would be accessed and edited into segment. It is also potentially possible they are already on the net as streaming video.

Most stations will not make a tape for you. When my son and I were interviewed on CLTV a few years back, I was told by the reporter that their systems aren't compatible with home systems. Instead you have to go through a service. Back in August, I was on ABC with Sylvia Perez the day after the giant storm that took out the power on most of the north side (imagine prepping food for tv by candlelight). No power means no tivo and the folks who taped it for me didn't know how to burn a cd from their recorder so I used a company called VMS (Video Monitoring Services). There website is www.vmsinfo.com. It cost about $150.00.
