LTH,
Went to Mike O'Donnell's Pub in Franklin Park last Friday to hear a niece sit in with Paradise Waits, a Grateful Dead cover band, and had two very pleasant surprises. One, I really enjoyed the music, which took me back to the golden days of my mostly innocent youth, and two, the pizza was terrific.
Paradise Waits
Thin, but not cracker, crust pizza is made from scratch dough and quality ingredients, I was particularly impressed by the fact that a 10pm bar pizza used freshly sliced garlic, attention to detail was excellent.
Pizza Arrabiatta "Angry Hot" fresh garlic, giardiniera, cheese, fresh basil (I added sausage)
Daily specials, Friday was ruben w/fries, and the burgers looked plump and juicy. Lunch is served every day and the kitchen stays open late.
The crowd was fun, with a seemingly disproportionate number of attractive women. Service, both food and drink, for a packed house of hard drinking customers, was friendly and efficient.
I should note, in the interest of full disclosure, the bar is run by another niece (in-law) and owned by her family. So I may be slightly biased.
Enjoy,
Gary
