valentine's day seafood in DC

hello everyone,

i have been reading the posts on DC to find a restaurant for valentine's day. i'll be there for a conference and my husband is going to join me there. i'd like to do seafood, and checked out kinkead's, but I fear it is going to be too expensive for us.

Can anyone recommend a more moderately priced seafood that would be good for v-day? Cathy2 posted this maryland seafood directory earlier, but I'm not sure where to start...

My suggestion is to check out Don Rockwell. This is basically DC's version of LTH. You'll find more comprehensive info on DC restaurants.

Here are two places I would highly, highly recommend for outstanding seafood in the DC area:

Pesce is much less expensive (~$40/person), but not quite as romantic or as good as Black Salt. Both restaurants take reservations, and both have an outstanding selection of unique, and fresh fish. Kinkead's might be do-able if you order several appetizers and split an entree.

Regardless of where you decide to go, I would call NOW to make sure you get a table. You wouldn't believe how fast restaurants book up downtown.

thanks to both of you! we decided to go with blacksalt - it received very good reviews on donrockwell.com as well! they squeezed us in for a 9pm reservation on valentine's day. i will report back!
