This week Anthony Bourdain will be the guest on "the only rock and roll talk show", Sound Opinions.

Superstar chef, author and TV host Anthony Bourdain joins Jim and Greg for a conversation about two of the best things on earth: Music and Food. What’s the connection between these two great pleasures? Jim and Greg hear from chefs around the country and play their favorite culinary-themed songs.

There's a Flickr set of photos from the recording session.
Assuming they are consistent with their naming conventions, the show will ultimately be listenable here:

It airs on WBEZ on Friday night and Saturday morning, and via podcast..

I heard a sound bite for it this morning when I was listening to NPR. It sounds like it's going to be pretty interesting.

It was the best Sound Opinions yet! in my "sound opinion" of course. HA! as a culinary "professional" AND music geek since i high school, it really hit home. Anthony Bourdain is even more my hero after listening. Four other chefs were interviewed in regards to their opinions on the relationship between music and cooking.

    To quote Hot Doug:

"The energy that goes into a great restaurant, is the same that goes into a great song"

    Or something of that gist.

    So true.

I was going to post about this today. I was listening to the stream while I was working. I really liked Bourdain's comments on the connection between music and food. I also liked some of the selections that they picked for songs about food especially Prince's "Starfish and Coffee".
