So in my group of friends, the merits of Clark Dog are hotly debated. We have a few friends that really like their Philly and other who don't like it at all. I have never tred it and was wondering if it was worth a shot.

Since the people I normally ask are split right down the middle, I thought that I would bring it up here. Hoping to get an unbiased view on the place. Has anyone been there? If so, what do you think?

I used to work near there so it was in my rotation. They do all the standard stuff well but nothing is particularly exceptional - it's not really a destination. However, they are open late and there's a bar, so that has to count for something.

When I was younger & lived in the area, I remember grabbing dinner and a couple of beers on a weeknight or stopping on the way home after a night out.

As for their Philly sandwich, it's a pretty tasty sandwich but it is NOT a Philly Cheesesteak.

I am not and have not been a fan of Clark Street Dogs. When that post was written, I had just moved back into the area and did not really know the neighborhood around where I was working very well at all. In all, I spent about a year and a half at that location and I will say that given how close Clark Street dogs is to Weiner's Circle for dogs and burgers and Philly's Best for cheese steaks, I simply can not see a reason to ever visit Clark Street Dogs.
