It's French-Asian fusion. The restaurant is operated by a Vietnamese husband-wife team. Food is excellent. Wine is available too.
    Use underground parking garage.

although i've never been i have heard good things about the eba cafe.
i live in the hood and i can't beleive i've never eaten there  .
they seem to have a strong resident-based clientele that has been supportive through the years.they have recently updated the interiors and they do have a full liquor license if you choose to imbibe.
if you go tell us what you think.

btw,the majestic edgewater beach apartments are a real treasure[it survived the wrecking ball the hotel did not]and a landmark that's steeped in history.they just restored the grand lobby and the residence boasts a private 2 acre park[unheard of in these times],sunlight indoor pool,it's own library,a florist and soda fountain as well as suites of private guest rooms that can be reserved for visitors not to mention a very gracious staff.

I wish I could tell you. The Mrs. and I were feeling under-the-weather and didn't make it out that night. Another time, perhaps...

Wow! I go by there all the time. The building does have a glamour to it but you would never guess it is a treasure. And I mean that with all sincerity. :)

I always heard the story that L. Frank Baum lived in the Humboldt Park area when he wrote the Wizard of Oz (the first book at least)--unless he had to get a hotel room to get away from his kids so he could concentrate on writing his books for children.... Now that would be ironic!
